Progress made in investigation into heist: BB spokesman
Dhaka: There has been enough progress in the investigation into the heist of over $100 million from central bank’s account with the New York Federal Reserve Bank.
Bangladesh Bank’s spokesman Subhankar Saha made this claim while briefing reporters about the ongoing investigation into the incident on Thursday.
He, however, declined to give any detail of the developments. ‘I can’t say anything more. Just I can say, it’s progressing… there is enough progress.’
He said the central bank has appointed one of its listed lawyers to assess the legal scope for launching a legal battle to realize the money.
Responding to a question on the restriction on the entry of journalists to the central bank, he said ‘Journalists were not entertained for the sake of investigation and security’.
He said there is no restriction on the entry of journalist to the central bank. But the camera crew must take prior permission before going inside the central bank.
