Power import: Energypac joins hands with Power Grid
DHAKA: Power Grid Company of Bangladesh (PGCB) on Wednesday signed a contract with Energypac Engineering Limited, a local firm, to upgrade its Comilla South substation’s capacity to facilitate import of 100 MW electricity from Indian state Tripura.
According to the contract, the Energypac will supply and install two bays, each having 132kv capacity, for the Comilla South substation in eight months at a contract value of Tk 6.33 crore to enhance its transmission capacity.
The scheme will be implemented as part of PGCB’s ongoing Tripura (India) -Comilla South (Bangladesh) Grid Interconnection Project, which was undertaken by the Bangladesh government to import 100 MW power from the neighboring country.
PGCB company secretary Ashraf Hossain and Energypac additional project general manager SM Aminul Haque signed the contract on behalf of their respective sides.
PGCB managing director Masum Al Beruni and other officials of the two sides were present at the contract signing ceremony.
Earlier, PGCB signed a number of contracts with different local and foreign companies for implementing different works to facilitate power import from Indian state of Tripura.
