Dhaka: Election to the board of directors of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) concluded here on Sunday for the 2017-'19 term.

The voting started at 9:00am at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) here and concluded at 5:00pm.

A total of 36 elected directors from both chamber and association groups will nominate the president and two vice-presidents for the FBCCI board for two years.

Former BGMEA president and current FBCCI vice-president M Shafiul Islam Mohiuddin and president of Bangladesh Garment Buying House Association Kazi Iftaquer Hossain are contesting the election for the post of president under the banner of 'Shammilito Ganatantrik Parishad' and 'Babosayee Oikyo Forum', a platform of businessmen, respectively.
