BD leaves US behind in investment index
Bangladesh has ranked 48th, 2 notches higher than the USA, in the Baseline Profitability Index (BPI) 2015 published on the Foreign Policy magazine.
Prepared by Daniel Altman, the index put India on top among the 110 countries considered to be the best investment destinations around the world.
Although Bangladesh did better than the USA (50th) and Pakistan (58th), it jumped only one position higher. In BPI 2014 Bangladesh was 49th.
World’s second economic power China has been left behind most Asian countries securing 65th position.
According to index, India is the best place for investment with Sri Lanka (10th), Bangladesh and Pakistan following it.
