Appropriation bill 2015 passed
Dhaka: The Jatiya Sangsad (JS) on Tuesday unanimously passed the Appropriation Bill 2015.
Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith moved the bill seeking budgetary allocations of Taka 4,15,308,18,88, 000 for meeting its development and non-development expenditures for various ministries.
The bill was passed by voice vote.
The day’s sitting was chaired by Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury.
The budget is the second fiscal plan of the Awami League-led government, which came to power for the second consecutive term with an overwhelming victory in the general elections held on 5 January, 2014.
Ministers in charge of the concerned ministries placed their proposals for expenditures through 56 demands for grants, which were passed by voice vote. Besides, opposition and independent lawmakers proposed 525 cut motions but seven demands came up for discussions.
