FBCCI wants more time for tax filing

Dhaka: The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI), the apex business body of the country, on Monday urged the government to extend the time allowed for submitting income tax returns till 31 October 2015.
FBCCI already has sent a proposal regarding this to the Finance Ministry and National Board of Revenue (NBR), according to FBCCI press release.
The last date for filing this year’s income tax returns will end on 30 September.
FBCCI said many of the taxpayers including businessmen were incapable of filing tax returns s well as paying the taxes within 30 September due to Eid-ul Azha celebration. So, the government should extend the time for submitting income tax return till 31 October.
The business body also thanked NBR for successfully celebrating Income Tax Day and arranging income tax fair across the country to make people more interested in paying their taxes.
