Dhaka: UCWeb, a portfolio company of Alibaba Mobile Business Group, has launched a campaign for its news in-app product ‘BD Express’ with Bangladesh national team cricketer Sabbir Rahman, actress Sabnam Faria and actor Salman Muqtadir, who are currently competing for a Facebook Live Video by public vote. Earlier, UCWeb had announced ‘BD Express’ as the first big data driven news aggregation platform for Bangladeshi users which would serve ads-free customized news to the users according to their taste.

Apart from contributing articles to BD Express, the stars are participating an online competition hosted by UC Browser in which the fans vote for their favorite news represented by these celebrities.

The voting will be closed on 5 September. The winning celebrity will engage in a Facebook Live video with the fans where they will talk about their personal success stories.

Sabbir Rahman, a popular Bangladeshi cricketer, his participation with ‘BD Express’ is being seen as the advocacy of the sports news published through the platform for millions of sports fans.

He said: ‘BD Express is very user friendly, it gives timely sports updates and I can see live scores from here.’

Representing the entertainment section of BD Express, Sabnam Faria, said: ‘It’s a fantastic thing, I got all the news from BD Express.’

Talking about his role as advocate for BD Express breaking news section, Salman Muqtadir, a popular Bangla Youtuber, said: ‘We young people are curious about the outside world and eager to receive latest news.

BD Express will be able to fulfil this need via UC Browser push notifications by promptly updating its users about the most important things they need to know.’
