Now Commerce Bank awaits reshuffle: Muhith

Sylhet: Finance Minister AMA Muhith on Monday said now the Board of Directors of Commerce Bank will be reshuffled.
‘Islami Bank saw a massive change. Now, change will be made in Commerce Bank soon,’ he told reporters after joining a reception in Sylhet city.
Muhith came up with the revelation four days after the Board of Directors of Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited went through a massive reshuffle on January 5 as it got new chairman and managing director, heads of different committees and the chief of Islami Bank Foundation.
Tea estate workers accorded the reception to the Finance Minister at Lakkatora Golf Club.
The minister said tea production reached a record height this year, which is enough to meet the domestic demand. ‘If the trend continues, Bangladesh won't need to import tea anymore,’ he added.
About children of tea estate workers, he said initiative is being taken to introduce 25 percent quota for them at Lakkatora Tea Garden Government School.
The minister came here on a three-day visit to Sylhet on Monday.
