Kayes sets record as substitute wicketkeeper
Dhaka: Imrul Kayes made a world record taking five catches, the first time for a substitute wicket-keeper for any country.
N Wagner’s out was Kayes’ fifth catch of the first Test, which is the best haul by a substitute gloveman in Test cricket.
But, half an hour before the end of play, Kayes injured his left thigh running a sharp single.
The opening batsman-cum-occasional wicketkeeper left the field on a stretcher, retired hurt on 24, and taken to hospital for an x-ray.
He was keeping wicket because captain and regular wicket-keeper Mushfiqur Rahim is protecting injuries to both hands.
