Shooter Sadia Sultana admitted to DMCH with burn injuries
Dhaka: South Asian Games gold medalist shooter Syeda Sadia Sultana has been admitted to the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) as she received severe burn injuries while cooking.
Sources at the DMCH said Sadia was admitted to the hospital with serious burn injuries on Friday night.
Dr Samanta Lal Sen, coordinator of Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery of DMCH, said Sadia suffered 20 percent burns on her body. "She is not risk free", the physician added.
Quoting family members, Dr Samanta said she received serious burn injuries while cooking at her Chittagong residence 6-7 days back.
Later, the shooter was taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital and later shifted to the DMCH on Friday night, said the burn unit coordinator.
Sadia secured gold medal in 10m air rifle event of the SA Games 2010, hosted by Bangladesh.
