Afghanistan will host Bangladesh in a three-match T20I series at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Dehradun, India.

The 3-match series will be from June 3 -7, before Afghanistan travel to Bengaluru for the one-off Test match against India.

All 3 matches of the T20I series will start at 8pm (Bangladesh time), reported Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) on its official website on Wednesday, reports the UNB.

Afghanistan and Bangladesh have faced each other only once in a T20I in the 2014 ICC World Twenty20 that Bangladesh won. Afghanistan is currently ranked 8th while Bangladesh is ranked 10th in the ICC T20I team rankings.

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), CEO Nizam Uddin Chowdhury said, ‘Afghanistan have some fine players for this format and they will have the advantage of familiarity with the conditions in Dehradun… Bangladesh team is a confident and experienced unit and we are really looking forward to the matches.’

ACB chairman Atif Mashal said: ‘ACB is delighted to host Bangladesh for the T20I series in Dehradun in….which will be a good opportunity for both sides to play competitive cricket.’

ACB CEO Shafiq Stanikzai commented: ‘These matches will be important for both sides to gain valuable points in the ICC rankings and the lead up to the 2020 ICC World Twenty20’.
