Dhaka: Bangladesh batsman Liton Das was taken to a hospital after sustaining a blow on his right foot during the second ODI against Windies on Tuesday at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.

But, the blow was not a dangerous one as a scan suggested that there was no fracture in his foot, reports the UNB.

The batsman got the blow while facing a delivery from Oshane Thomas. He went to flick the ball but missed and got the blow. He was attended by the Team physio immediately and stretchered out the field.

Right after the incident, Bangladesh team manager Sabbir Khan confirmed that Liton was taken to a nearby hospital for a scan on his right foot. And after a while, he updated the media saying Liton suffered no fracture.

He also said Liton might bat later in the Bangladesh innings if he can manage the pain.

The Windies have won the toss in the second ODI and decided to bat first. Tamim Iqbal opened the innings for the hosts along with Liton Das.

The Tigers won the first match on 9 December by five wickets. So the ongoing encounter could be a series-winning affair for the Tigers with a match to be played on 14 December at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.
