Dhaka: Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Mortaza has won toss and decided to field first in the first T20 international against Zimbabwe at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka on Friday.

Bangladesh opener Imrul Kayes has found a place in the T20 squad, courtesy back-to-back fifties while Kamrul Islam Rabbi has got his maiden call-up in T20s.

With the fresh memory of whitewashing the visitors in the three-match ODI series, Bangladesh will face Zimbabwe in the first T20I of the two-match series.

Earlier on Wednesday, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced a 14-member T20I squad with five changes from the Tigers’ last T20I squad that played against South Africa in July.

Kamrul Islam Rabbi has got the first call to make his international debut.

Shakib Al Hasan, Soumya Sarkar, Rubel Hossain, Rony Talukdar and Sohagh Gazi have been excluded from the T20I squad.

Imrul Kayes, Mahmudullah Riyad, Al-Amin Hossain, Anamul Haque Bijoy and Kamrul Islam Rabbi were included to fill these vacant positions.

Bangladesh selectors kept 14 players in the T20I squad from the squad of the 3rd ODI against Zimbabwe.

In the latest ICC T20 ranking, Bangladesh are holding the 10th slot while Zimbabwe are in the 14th.

Bangladesh beat the Zimbabweans two times in their three T20 meetings.
