Gautam Gambhir opens free community kitchen to feed poor

Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir recently took an inititive to feed the poor and hungry through the Gautam Gambhir foundation.
The Indian opener took to Twitter and said,’Won World Cups, one IPLs,beaten opponents. Now time 2 win hearts & beat hunger. Community Kitchen #1 by Gautam Gambhir Foundation.’
He added,’Compassion in my heart, a plate in my hand & a prayer on my lips ‘No one should sleep hungry.’
The KKR skipper has launched a campaign to feed the poor free of cost in New Delhi, reports financialexpress.com.
The first place where this community kitchen was setup was in Patel Nager. Through this initiative, Gambhir plans no to sleep anyone hungry. The batsman on his Twitter account said,’365 days, 52 weeks, 12 months, numerous hungers & Ek Asha #communitykitchen1 #ggf.’
Bollywood’s King Khan himself took to Twitter to extend his help to KKR skipper. Shah Rukh Khan said,’Let me know my Captain how I can be of use to ur initiative. Bless u.’

Earlier, in April the left-handed batsman had pledged to bear the full cost of the children of 25 CRPF personnel who were killed in an ambush by Maoists in the Sukma attack in Chhattisgarh. As per a report by Indian Express, Gambhir took to Twitter to express his anger on the attack and said, ‘Chattisgarh, Kashmir, North East, do v need more alarm bells or r we a deaf state?Life of my countrymen isn’t cheap,someone needs 2 pay 4 it.’
This campaign of his is sure to win millions of hearts of people across the country.
