Shakib, in his post, stated, ‘I truly feel humbled that you have chosen me to be a member of the Prestigious MCC World Cricket Committee. Thank you for bestowing me with such an honour.’
The MCC authorities sent a letter to the world best all-rounder on September 18, informing him of his appointment.

He is now just 18 wickets away from reaching the 500-mark in international cricket and is just 215 runs away from reaching 10,000 international runs.
The first meeting of the committee will take place in Sydney on Jan 9 and Jan 10, 2018. The next meeting will be held at Lords stadium on Aug 6 and Aug 7, 2018.
