Mashrafe's Rangpur Riders fined

Dhaka: Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) franchised team Rangpur Riders have been fined for maintaining a slow over rate against Dhaka Dynamites during their match at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium here on Tuesday.
Mashrafe Bin Mortaza-led team beat title aspirant Shakib Al Hasan's Dhaka Dynamites by three runs in the nail-biting match.
Match Referee Samiur Rahman imposed the fine after Rangpur Riders were found to be guilty for two overs short of the mark when time allocation was taken into consideration.
As per Article 2.5.1 of the BCB Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to minor over-rate offences, players are fined 10 percent of their match fees for every over their side fail to bowl within the allotted time, with the captain fined double of that amount.
Accordingly, Rangpur Riders captain Masrafe Bin Mortaza has been fined 40 percent of his match fee while his players have been fined 20 percent of the amount. Mortaza pleaded guilty to the offence and accepted the proposed sanction and as such there was no need for a formal hearing.
The charge was laid by on-field umpires Riaz Uddin and Anisur Rahman, third umpire Morshed Ai Khan and fourth umpire Moniruzzaman Tinku.
