Hasin Jahan has questioned her husband Mohammed Shami’s ‘morals’ and called him a ‘liar’ as their public dispute continues to get murkier.

Last week Hasin had accused Shami of adultery and domestic abuse. She had shared screenshots of Shami’s alleged chats with his girlfriends in a Facebook post.

‘I did not want to take the matter to the court. The way he has been treating me for the last two years forced me to take this step. Had I not found the phone, he would have left me. I tried to convince Shami in our every conversations but he was not ready,’ said Jahan, reported India Today.

She further called Shami a big liar who was trying to save himself with the help of his lies.

‘Shami is a liar. He is lying to save himself. Our last conversation was during a WhatsApp call. It was planning call by him. He asked me how we can save the family. I told him to apologise and admit all your mistakes and comeback,’ she added.

Hasin also said she never accused Shami of match-fixing.

Shami had told the media that his wife had made fixing claims against him but Jahan said she never made such allegations as she doesn’t understand the game.

‘I have never made any match-fixing claims. I do not even understand the game then how can I talk about it. It is Shami who is bringing the match-fixing angle,’ she said.

Shami is currently being investigated for match-fixing claims after the Committee of Administrators (CoA) chairman Vinod Rai instructed BCCI’s Anti-Corruption chief Neeraj Kumar to probe alleged corruption allegations against the cricketer, surfaced during a reported telephonic conversation between the fast bowler and his wife.

The CoA chief asked Kumar to submit a report within a week. It is to be noted that the letter nowhere mentions the word ‘match fixing’.

‘This has reference to the various media reports pertaining to allegations against Md. Shami. The Committee of Administrators has listened to the audio recording of a telephonic conversation which it is claimed is between Md. Shami and his wife. The said audio recording is available in public domain,’ Rai wrote in the letter.

Jahan has alleged that Shami ‘took money from a Pakistani woman named Alishba on the insistence of an England-based businessman Mohammad Bhai’.

Shami had met with ACSU chief Neeraj Kumar in Delhi on Thursday. It is understood the Indian team management also wants Shami to be cleared of match-fixing charges.Jahan also hinted at an out-of-court settlement.

‘Problem started since our marriage. He has been asking for a divorce for the last two years. If Shami is ready to apologise and accept all his mistakes then he can come back. Otherwise we will meet in court,’ Jahan said.

Shami had claimed that Hasin Jahan did not tell him of her first marriage but Jahan revealed that the India cricketer knew everything about her past.

‘Shami does not have anything to say but lie. I used to stay with three girls in Poddarnagar and Shami knew about it. He used to come and play them often. I have nothing to hide. he knew about it,’ she said.

The Indian pacer was slapped with charges of attempt to murder, criminal intimidation amid others.

An FIR was last week registered against Shami and his four other family members in Kolkata’s Jadavpur police station under several Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections, including section 498A, which amounts to cruelty to a woman by her husband or his relatives.

The other charges recorded against Shami are under Section 307 - attempt to murder, Section 323 - punishment for voluntarily causing hurt, Section 376 - rape, Section 506 - criminal intimidation, Section 328 and Section 34.

‘I have never said in any interview on when the gang rape happened. Please check the FIR copy when the incident happened. He is a big liar and he will lie to save himself,’ she added.

On why she took such a long time in taking legal action against her husband, Jahan said: ‘I did not have any support in the last two years. I gave up my career, Shami was my only hope. I tried to save our marriage. He tortured me throughout and was involved several extra-marital affairs.’

Jahan also had a message for Shami in which she told him to accept his mistakes.

‘Shami there is nothing kept in lying. Please accept your mistakes,’ she signed off.
