BCB excludes 6 national cricketers from central contract
Dhaka: Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) reduced the number of national cricketers under its central contract to 10 from exiting 16, excluding six national cricketers from their contract
Six cricketers who excluded from the BCB central contract are: opening batsman Soumya Sarkar, top order batsman Imrul Kayes, all rounders Sabbir Rahman and Mosaddek Hossain Saikat, pacers Taskin Ahmed and Kamrul Islam Rabbi.
BCB President Nazmul Hassan Papon made this announcement to the pressmen after the day’s Executive Committee meeting.
The BCB boss did not however make any announcement tthat there will be any increase in the salary of the national contracted cricketers as per expectations.
Reliable sources said the salary of the contracted players may just increase 25 to 30 percent according to their category.
In the last year, salary of A plus category cricketers like Mashrafe, Shakib, Tamim and Mushfiqur increased almost double from 2.5 lac to 4 lac and A category like Mahmudullah increased to Tk 3 lac from Tk 2.
