Dhaka: Bangladeshi shooter Shakil Ahmed won gold medal in the men’s 50-meter pistol in the 12th South Asian Games.

He scored 187.6 to win gold medal of the event.

This is the 4th gold medal for Bangladesh in the 12^th South Asian Games after two golds in swimming and one in weightlifting.

On 7 February, Lifter Mabia Akhter Simanta clinched the first gold medal for Bangladesh in the women’s 63-kg weight category of weightlifting and Mahfuza clinched first gold medal in the Women’s 100-metre breast.

On 8 February, Bangladesh swimmer Mahfuza Khatun Shila clinched her 2nd gold medal in the Women’s 50-metre Breast Stroke.
