Mominul Haque gets century in Chittagong Test.

Chattogram: Bangladeshi middle-order batsman Mominul Haque completed his eighth Test century during the first encounter of a two-match series against visiting West Indies at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in the port city on Thursday.

The 27-year loving youth from Cox’s Bazar, crossed the 100-run mark with a boundary off Roston Chase to reach 102 form 98 runs in the innings 49.3 overs with Bangladesh’s collection at 183/3* in the first innings during the first day’s second session.

Mominul now has the joint-most hundreds for the year along with Indian Test side captain Virat Kohli as apart from these two, no other batsman has hit more than two centuries this year in the Test cricket.

With his third consecutive Test hundred at Chattogram venue, he equalized Tamim Iqbal’s record of most-hundred getter for Bangladesh.

Mominul hit back to back century for Bangladesh as the left-handed batsman hammering a 161-run in the first innings of the second Test for a 1-1 draw series against Zimbabwe in the last week in Dhaka.

Mominul, who is still considered the genuine Test batsman of Bangladesh, made his debut in the longest format against Sri Lanka at Galle in March in 2013 and played so far 32 Tests.
