Bangladesh lead by 133 runs with 5 wickets remaining

Chattogram: That’s the end of the day. What a brilliant day of cricket. Kudos to the umpires for persisting and ensuring the 90 overs were bowled out. Windies managed to bowl Bangladesh out early but not early enough as the hosts put up 324 runs.
In response, Bangladesh unleashed their spin barrage to bundle the visitors out for 246. Bangladesh held onto a 78-run lead and would have hoped to build on that with a bunch of wickets at hand on the third day. Much to their dismay, they lost four wickets with Windies’s spinners coming good. Chase and Warrican have figured their lengths and their lines and they have been relentless. Bangladesh now lead by 133 runs. It will not be easy for Windies to chase on this wicket even on the fourth day, but they will want to keep Bangladesh down to a bare minimum.
Seventeen-year-old debutant Nayeem Hasan is now the youngest bowler in Test history to pick up a fifer on debut.
Besides, He becomes the eighth Bangladeshi bowler to pick up five wickets on debut.
With a brilliant show from spinners, Bangladesh now lead by 78 runs. Windies look like they were going too far worse at one stage, but thanks to Dowrich and the hard-hitting Hetmyer they managed to claw their way back in. A good spell of bowling before stumps should give Windies the edge. It will be tough, but they should push for a few wickets today.
Earlier, 31 overs, 133 runs and 3 wickets was the summary of the second session, but Windies will be reasonably happier, with Hetmyer hitting a counter-attacking half-century and Dowrich looking solid. Bangladesh are still well ahead in this match though.
While the wickets were fun for Bangladesh, those 133 runs were engrossing for Windies fans. Hetmyer was the architect of that blitz, slamming a quickfire 63 before Mehidy accounted for him with some guile. Windies are 137 runs behind at the moment, but with Dowrich and Bishoo around, they can hope to get closer to that total.
Earlier in the day Shakib Al Hasan was the man of the first session. He has returned to Test cricket and started taking wickets straightaway. He shows he is not going to let finger injuries come in the way of that. He has two wickets, but could have had two more. Two dropped chances ruined Shakib’s moment.
