BCB announces squad for Windies T20Is

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Friday announced a 14-member T20I squad of the Tigers who will lock horn against the touring West Indies in three-match series which will commence on 17 December in Sylhet.

Shakib Al Hasan, the ace all-rounder of Bangladesh, will lead the side, and Mahmudullah Riyad will play the role of a vice-captain during the series, reports the UNB.

Shabbir Rahman, Mosaddek Hossain and Abu Jayed Rahi were omitted from the squad who last played a T20I for the Tigers in July this year against the same opponent. Mohammad Saifuddin and Mohammad Mithun, who played their last T20I earlier this year in Sylhet against Sri Lanka, managed to make a comeback in the squad.

In the last T20I series against the Windies Bangladesh came up as victorious. They won the series 2-1.

While the first T20I of the series will take place on 17th December in Sylhet, the remaining two will be held in Dhaka on December 20 and 22 respectively. The first T20I will be kicked off at 2:00 pm, and the remaining two will be held at 5:00 pm.

Bangladesh squad for the Windies T20Is: Shakib Al Hasan (Captain), Tamim Iqbal, Soumya Sarker, Liton Kumar Das, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah (Vice-Captain), Rubel Hossain, Mustafizur Rahman, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Nazmul Islam Apu, Md Mithun, Saif Uddin, Abu Hider Rony, Ariful Hoque.
