Bangladesh finished on 211/4 and the West Indies got a big chase on their hands. This is the highest ever T20I score at this ground.

Earlier, Windieswon the toss and decided to bowl first in the second T20 of three-match series in Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Thursday.

Bangladesh were a treat to watch with the bat, a much improved performance from the first T20I.

Shakib was most certainly the star for Bangladesh. He followed on from the brutal hitting of Liton Das at the top of the order with a brilliant 42 from 26 balls, before taking five wickets to rip through the West Indies batting line-up.

A decent effort from the West Indies and with Shai Hope explosive once again it seemed that they might have a chance. His dismissal was certainly a heavy blow. While Rovman Powell was impressive with his fifty, it wasn’t to be enough.

Brathwaite speaks post-match

‘Credit must go to the Bangladeshi batsmen, Liton Das chanced his arm early.’

‘We thought they were 10-15 short to be honest with how good the wicket was.’

Shakib is Player of the Match

As expected, Shakib is rewarded for his all-round performance with the Player of the Match award.

The final match will be held in Dhaka on Saturday, with the series on the line.
