Dhaka: Former Sri Lanka captain all-rounder Thisara Perera on Sunday joined Comilla Victorians to play in the remaining matches of the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), reports the UNB.

The Victorians played three matches so far in the BPL and managed two wins. They were captained by Steve Smith who left the contest due to a nasty hand injury. Imrul Kayes, the left-handed opener, led the Victorians in their last match against Rajshahi Kings.

Thisara Perera played the last BPL back in 2017 for Rangpur Riders and helped them to clinch the title performing well in eight matches.

Thisara came to BPL after some tremendous all-round performance during Sri Lanka’s New Zealand tour. In the three ODIs in New Zealand he scored 4, 140 and 80 respectively and took two wickets.

His inclusion will surely boost the confidence of the Victorians who was upset after losing the service of Steve Smith.

Comilla will play their fourth encounter of the season against Chittagong Vikings on Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium at 6:30 pm Sunday.

The Victorians will face off Sylhet Sixers and Khulna Titans in the Sylhet phase of the tournament on 15 and 18 January respectively.
