Cricket's #10YearChallenge: Shakib's aged the best

Unless you have been away from social media for the past few days — or chosen to be completely inactive— it is unlikely you have missed the latest trend: the #10YearChallenge, where everyone — from celebrities to the average Joe (and Jane) — has been posting pictures from 2009 and showing the world how they have aged.

In keeping with the trend, ESPNCricinfo arranged a poll with a few active cricketers whose careers go back to 2009 and earlier.

Interestingly, India’s Virat Kohli topped the list after the poll was launched. But, Bangladesh cricket fans have done the trick to bring Shakib on top of the list. They enthusiastically circulated the link for the poll to Facebook groups.

‘We are light years ahead of other countries in terms of such trendy issues. We love to see our cricketers reigning over the things', said Mamun Billah, an admin of Cricket Maniacs of Bangladesh (CricMac), a popular cricket-related Bangladeshi Facebook group.

‘I have posted about the poll in several Facebook groups so that people can vote for Shakib’, said Saikat Biswas, a moderator of CricMac.

Currently, Bangladesh ace allrounder Shakib Al Hasan is leading the poll among the listed 12 cricketers.
