Minhajul Abedin Nannu

I feel really proud of being a selector of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). We have been able to form a team that has secured the quarter-final berth beating a team like England. Congratulations to Bangladesh team.

Like the people of the country, I am glad over the success of the team. Tigers have met our expectation.

This victory is the result of team effort. It seemed for a short time that Bangladesh may lose the match after Tamim dropped the easy catch of Chris Woakes in the 48th over of the match. But the two magic deliveries from Rubel brought the victory for Tigers. Rubel brought the historic moment for Bangladesh to cheer up dispersing the wickets of Stuart Broad and James Anderson in the first and the third balls of the 49th over.

England was heading towards victory with the 75-run partnership from Jos Buttler and Woakes in the 7th wicket. But England failed to taste the win as they could not stand against the ferocious pace of tigers.

The bowlers of Bangladesh were in advantage as they had the backup of handsome 275 runs to defend. Mahmudullah and Mushfiq are to get the credit for that. Both of them batted really well. Mushfiq is consistently playing well.

Minhajul Abedin Nannu: Selector of Bangladesh Cricket Board and former captain of Bangladesh cricket team. He is the first Man of the Match of Bangladesh in World Cup.
