BCB to sell national team jersey ahead of World Cup
Dhaka: Die-hard cricketing fans will soon have a chance to don jerseys, albeit replicas, of the national team.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has decided to capitalise on the huge fan base of the sports in the country ahead of the World Cup, reports the UNB.
Many unofficial and low quality replicas of the jerseys are sold in the market. And the demand for high-quality products is huge.
‘We have decided to sell it considering the jersey’s high-demand among supporters,’ said Nizamuddin Chowdhury, the BCB chief executive officer.
The national team’s clothing-kits provider Sports and Sports will supply the official replica in the market, he told the media. ‘We’ve signed a contract with Sports and Sports. They will provide jerseys to a renowned local clothing brand who will sell them countrywide.’
But there are no details about the price the jerseys and where they will be sold. BCB said it will clear these things up in coming weeks before the World Cup.
