Hobart, Australia: Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat in the World Cup Pool A match against Scotland at the Bellerive Oval in Hobart on Wednesday.

Sri Lanka’s final league match gives them a chance to fine-tune preparations for next week’s quarter-finals for which they have already qualified.

Scotland are out of the race, having lost all their four matches so far.

Sri Lanka are beset with injuries, with seamer Dhammika Prasad ruled out of the tournament before it started and Jeevan Mendis, Dimuth Karunaratne and Dinesh Chandimal sidelined during it.

Veteran left-arm spinner Rangana Herath is also recovering from a finger injury and will miss the match.

Fast bowler Dushmantha Chameera and batsman Kusal Perera are making their World Cup debuts for Sri Lanka.

Scotland have made three changes from their previous game, bringing in Freddie Coleman, Rob Taylor and Michael Leask in place of Majid Haq, Hamish Gardiner and Iain Wardlaw.

Scotland: Preston Mommsen (capt), Kyle Coetzer, Richie Berrington, Freddie Coleman, Matthew Cross (wkt), Josh Davey, Alasdair Evans, Michael Leask, Matt Machan, Calum MacLeod, Rob Taylor.

Sri Lanka: Angelo Mathews (capt), Tillakaratne Dilshan, Kumar Sangakkara (wkt), Mahela Jayawardene, Lahiru Thirimanne, Kusal Perera, Thisara Perera, Lasith Malinga, Nuwan Kulasekara, Dushmantha Chameera, Seekkuge Prasanna.
