Bangladesh lodges appeal with ICC for Taskin

Dhaka: To get back pacer Taskin Ahmed in the international cricket soon, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) will appeal to International Cricket Council (ICC) to review his ban over an alleged illegal bowling action.
BCB president Nazmul Hasan Papon informed this while talking to journalists at his residence on Sunday.
Papon said, ‘Since pacer Taskin Ahmed’s all deliveries do not exceed the level of the ICC delivery regulations, BCB will appeal to ICC to get him back in international cricket soon.’
‘ICC report stated that, there are some problems in Taskin’s actions. He is clear in Stock-delivery and Yorker. So, I think, there will be no problem to play international cricket for him,’ Papon said to the journalists.
The president informed that the BCB technical committee is working on Taskin issue and gathering necessary particulars to submit the appeal to ICC.
The BCB boss informed that he has already talked with ICC chairman Shashank Manohar and CEO David Richardson on this issue as part of their diplomacy besides official initiative.
Papon also believed that the ICC will allow the review on the Taskin’s suspension.
However, Taskin was suspended from international cricket due to illegal bowling action announced by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Saturday, after independent assessments of his test in Chennai.
The ICC also banned spinner Arafat Sunny on the same basis.
