Dhaka: Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Wednesday announced the squad for the first two ODIs of the three-match Dan Cake ODI Cricket Series against Pakistan to be held on 17 and 19 April at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.

Imrul Kayes, Taijul Islam and Shafiul Islam were dropped from the Bangladesh last ODI squad for Cricket World Cup while Rony Talukdar and medium-pacer Abul Hasan included in the 14-man squad.

Kayes played three matches in the World Cup against India, New Zealand and England scoring 5, 2 and 2.

Left-arm spinner Taijul played only against New Zealand with a figure of 0 for 58, and Shafiul did not play a single match after he was included in the squad in place of Al-Amin Hossain.

New face Rony Talukdar was named as he was the leading scorer in the Dhaka Premier Division scoring 714 runs with an average score of 51 including two centuries and three half centuries.

Talukdar also became this season’s fourth-highest scorer in the National Cricket League scoring 777 runs with an average score of 70.63, including three centuries and one fifty.

On the other hand, Abul Hasan played five ODIs, including the last one against Zimbabwe at home in December last.

Bangladesh Squad: Tamim Iqbal, Rony Talukdar, Soumya Sarker, Mominul Hoque, Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah, Nasir Hossain, Shabbir Rahman, Masrafe Bin Mortaza (Captain), Taskin Ahmed, Abul Hasan Raju, Rubel Hossain and Arafat Sunny.
