The prize money has been announced for Tigers’ outstanding performance in ODI series, T20 against Pakistan and also for their performance in the World Cup.

Sheikh Hasina came up with the announcement during a lunch offered to the players at the Prime Minister’s office on Saturday.

Bangladesh Cricket Board media manager Rabeed Imam said ‘Cricketers will be awarded a total of Tk 8 crore. Prime Minister has declared Tk 2 crore from her fund. The remaining 6 crore will be collected from different sponsor groups.’

Except players, coaches and other BCB officials took part in the banquet at the Prime Minister’s office.

Bangladesh cricket team showed brilliant performance in the World Cup playing in the quarter final for the first time. Among the six matches in the group round, Tigers sealed victory over Afghanistan, Scotland and England.
