Shakib gets career best ranking as Test batsman

Dhaka: Tigers all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has secured his career best position in the ICC Test batsmen rankings after smashing a double ton in the first innings of the Wellington Test against New Zealand.

Shakib’s career best 217 runs innings rendered him to make uplift 8 places up to secure the 23rd spot on the batting ranking board.

On the all-rounder board, he is still on number 2 position but currently he is holding his career best 436 rating points.

In the bowling department, Shakib is still the best bowler for Bangladesh and his current position is 15. Miraz is now on 36th position.

Apart from Shakib, Mushfiqur Rahim, Tamim Iqbal, Mominul Haque and Mahmudullah also moved up the batsmen’s list.

Mushfiqur climbed in the batsmen rankings and secured the 35th spot, after scoring 159 in a record-breaking partnership with Shakib in the first innings in Wellington Test.

The best batsman of Bangladesh according to ranking board is Tamim Iqbal who is now on 20th position and improves his position by 2.

Mominul Haque, who scored 64 and 23, climbed one place up to the 28th spot.
