Niaz wins 4th round in Chennai Open Chess

Dhaka: GM Niaz Murshed of Saif Sporting Club beat Mrudul Dehankar of India in the 4th round of 9th Chennai Open International Chess Tournament which is now being held at Chennai, India. Niaz and FM Mohammad Fahad Rahman of Access Chess Club earned 3 points each after end of the 4th round.

FM Mohammed Abdul Malek of Titas Club and CM Sohel Chowdhury of Titas Club and Mohammad Aminul Islam of Leonine Chess Club bagged 2.5 points each. WFM Nazrana Khan Eva aof Golden Sporting Club earned 2 points, WFM Zakia Sultana of Agrani Bank Daba Dal and Abul Kashem of Basir Memorial Chess Club earned 1.5 points each and Masuda Begum of Barisal secured 0.5 point. 

In day's other 4th round matches held on Saturday, FM Fahad beat Shyam Prasad Reddy of India, CM Sohel beat Rathneesh of India, WFM Eva split points with Shanya Mishra of India, Kashem drew with Srikrishnan of India, Masuda split point with Ilakiyan Xaviar Jeen of India, FM Malek lost to GM Stopa Jacek of Poland, Aminul lost to Gajwa Ankit of India and WFM Zakia lost to R Prajesh of India.
