Bangladesh lost to Oman

Dhaka: Bangladesh conceded a 2-3 defeat against Oman in the 3rd and last Pool A match of the eight-nation Hockey World League Round 2 at Maulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium on Tuesday.

Bangladesh took the lead in the 9th minute of the match with Mamunur Rahman Chayan scoring a penalty corner goal, 1-0.

Oman team captain Mohammed Bait Jandal restored the parity in the 15th minute converting a penalty stroke correctly, 1-1.  

Bangladesh took the lead again in the 17th minute as Roman Sarkar struck a field goal for the host side, 2-1.  

Muhanna Al Hasani leveled the margin for Oman scoring a field goal in the 25th minute, 2-2.

Khalid Al Batashi sealed the win for the visiting side with another field goal in the 27th minute, 3-2.  

Earlier, Bangladesh started their Pool A campaign with a 0-3 defeat against Malaysia and bounced back with 5-1 victory against Fiji in the 2nd match.
