Bangladesh post 257 against Black Caps

Dhaka: Bangladesh scored 257 against New Zealand in their 2nd match of the Walton Tri-Nation Series at Clontarf Cricket Club Ground in Dublin on Wednesday.
Soumya Sarkar, Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah Riyad hammered fifties scoring 61, 55 and 51 runs respectively in the Tigers' collection for 9 wickets in 50 overs.
Soumya shared a 72-run partnership in 15.2 overs with Tamim Iqbal (23 runs off 42b; 3x4) before the latter was caught by Colin Munro off James Neesham to depart from the crease as the first Bangladesh's batsman.
Soumya left the crease facing 67 balls firing five boundaries when he was caught by skipper Tom Latham off Ish Sodhi's bowling at 117/3 in 14.5 overs.
Mushfiqur played his innings off 66 balls and fired four boundaries and one six before he was caught by Luke Ronchi off James Neesham bowling at 181/5 in 37.1 overs.
After Mushfiqur's departure, Mahmudullah and Mosaddek Hossain built up a partnership of 61 in 10 overs in the 6th wicket stand which carried the team total to 242/6 in 47.2 overs.
Mahmudullah hit six boundaries in his 56-ball innings and was caught by Seth Rance off Hamish Bennett.
Mosaddek was another notable scorer playing a run-a-ball 41 with four boundaries before being caught by Seth Rance off Hamish Bennett at 253/7 in 49.1 overs.
Bangladesh lost their last three wickets -- Mosaddek, Mehedi Hasan Miraz and skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza -- within a span of 3 runs off five balls.
Hamish Bennett captured three wickets for 31 runs in 10 overs while Ish Sodhi and James Neesham bagged two wickets each for 40 and 68 runs in 10 and 9 overs. Mitchell Santner took one for 37 in 10 overs. .
In an away or neutral venue, Bangladesh never secured victory against New Zealand playing 15 matches.
