Dhaka: Bangladesh beat Nepal by 76-66 points in the opening match of the 5th South Asian Basketball Championship in the Maldives on Saturday.

Mithun Kumar Biswas of Bangladesh named as the best player of the match.

In the 2nd match, India beat hosts Maldives by 84-42 points. Amritapal Singh of India was adjudged the best player of the match.
