Dhaka: No one knew him a few days ago. Now, the leader of the victory against India in the first ODI, Mustafizur Rahman, is talk of the world.

The left-handed pacer stormed the cricket world taking five wickets in ODI debut on Thursday.

Mustafizur Rahman, hailing from Sathkhira, secured his place in the national team for his outstanding talent.

He expressed his feelings, experience and some stories of his life with NTV Online.

Here is the interview:

Q: How do you feel about the dreamy debut in ODI?

A: Really it feels good. I never thought of such success in the debut. I only wanted to give my effort as much as I can. I tried and got success.

Q. Did you feel nervous while bowling against Indian world class batting line up?

A: No, I did not. I played the match like any other match. Everything was normal for me.

Q. Among the five wickets you bagged, which one you enjoyed most?

A: I enjoyed each of them. I don’t want to make any difference.

Q. What is the reason behind this brilliant performance?

A: Many said Indian batsmen failed to play my off-cutters. May be that’s the reason.

Q: How did you learn that?

A: I learned it from our opener Anamul Haque Bijoy. The interesting thing is that once I took his wicket by an off cutter in the domestic cricket.

Q: Your collision with MS Dhoni is now the talk of the time. What’s your opinion on the issue?

A: Actually it was my mistake. It is not right to blame Dhoni for that. I went to the wrong line after bowling. Later, I talked with Dhoni and settled the issue.

Q:  But you had to leave the field for that.

A:  Yes, I had to go out for some time after I got hurt. But I came back within ten minutes after treatment.

Q: Who is your idol?

A: He too is a left-handed bowler. I try to imitate him. He is Pakistani pacer Mohammad Aamir.

Q: But he was banned for his involvement in spot-fixing.

A: I like Aamir as a bowler, not as person. I try to imitate his bowling.

Q: How did you came to cricket? Who inspired you?

A:  I am from a remote village in Sathkhira. Even, I did not know the city well. My elder brother Mokhlesur Rahman inspired me to play cricket. Everyday, by his motorbike, he used to take me to the Sathkhira town for practicing there. He used to take me home after practice. I have come so far for his inspiration.

Q: Tell me about your entry in the national team.

A: Actually, I play for the U-19 team. Sometimes, I used to bowl at the practice-net of the national team. Selectors liked me and the chance came for me to play in the lone T-20 against Pakistan. Then I got the chance to play in ODI.
