Dhaka: Bangladesh captain Mushfiqur Rahim won the toss and elected to bat in the second and final Test against South Africa at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka on Thursday.

The first Test was ended in a draw after rain washed out the last two days in Chittagong.

Wicketkeeper-batsman Dane Vilas is making his debut for South Africa, replacing Quinton de Kock.

The 30-year-old becomes the sixth new cap in the last 18 months as the Proteas continue their transition to a new-look Test squad.

Bangladesh brought back Nasir Hossain in place of left-arm spinner Taijul Islam.

Bangladesh: Mushfiqur Rahim (capt), Tamim Iqbal, Imrul Kayes, Liton Das, Mominul Haque, Shakib Al Hasan, Mahmudullah Riyad, Nasir Hossain, Jubair Hossain, Mohammad Shahid, Mustafizur Rahman.

South Africa: Hashim Amla (capt), Stiaan van Zyl, Dean Elgar, Faf du Plessis, JP Duminy, Dane Vilas, Themba Bavuma, Morne Morkel, Vernon Philander, Dale Steyn, Simon Harmer.
