Shakib Al Hasan

A day after becoming the world's No. 1 all-rounder in all three formats of cricket, Shakib Al Hasan produced an outstanding bowling performance to guide his side Melbourne Renegades to a crucial win over Brisbane Heat in the T20 Big Bash League on Tuesday (January 13, 2015).

Shakib became man of the match performing the most economical four-over bowling spell in the history of the Big Bash.

The world’s best all-rounder came to give post-match interview.

No sooner had he start to talk to interviewer, Star Sports-4 television closed its live telecast and started showing the highlights of an India-Australia match. The spectators couldn’t listen what Shakib said in his post-match interview.

Shakib’s team Renegades, realising the matter, posted a status in social media networks, “For those watching on Star Sports yesterday, we're aware you may have missed the post-match interviews. We have them for you though”.

The team also posted a link of Shakib’s post-match interview. (http://www.melbournerenegades.com.au/news/2015/01/14/heat-post-match-shakib)

Many followers of Renegades posted derogatory comments in Facebook against such behaviours of Indian and Pakistani sports television.

The 27-year-old all-rounder, who became the first ever player to hold the top all-rounder's position at the same time after topping the ODI rankings on Monday, took four wickets for just 13 runs as the Renegades beat Brisbane Heat by five wickets at the Docklands Stadium in Melbourne on Tuesday.

Shakib's player-of-the-match performance earned him the best figures for a Renegades player in the Big Bash history and more importantly kept his side in with a chance of making it to the last four.

Shakib also took a catch and effected a run-out as the visitors were wrapped up for just 80 runs, having batted first.

Shakib bagged four wickets including that of Brisbane’s highest scorer BJ Cutting for only 13 runs in four overs, at an economy rate of only 3.25. Brisbane were all out for 80 runs in 17.3 overs as they never managed to recover from the damage done by Shakib.

Shakib is currently the top all-rounder in all three formats of the game.
