A drawing and painting exhibition titled Manifestation of the Human by artist Md. Mainuddin has begun in La Galerie and Galerie Zoom of Alliance Française de Dhaka.

The inauguration of the exhibition was held on Saturday, 2 January 2016 at 5.30pm.

Eminent artistes Prof. Rafiqun Nabi, Abul Barq Alvi, and Prof. Nisar Hossain were among the distinguish guests present at the opening ceremony.

‘I want to experience the struggles faced by general people in their everyday life. I observe their turmoil and style of living firsthand, so that I can depict these emotions accurately through an empathic view point,’ said Md. Mainuddin.

Charcoal is his favorite medium. The main attraction of the exhibition is a massive 8ftx75ft artwork that shows hundreds of human figures portraying different types of professions of the ordinary people in Dhaka marching according to the direction of a human figure on the backdrop of the images of stream train.

Mainuddin did his B.F.A and M.F.A from Dhaka University with distinction.  So far, Mainuddin has received several awards including Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy Award (2013), Best Award in Painting in Bangladesh Young Artist Art Competition organised by Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (2012), Grand Prize in Nowab Sir Shamsul Huda Painting Award (2011) and many more.

Mainuddin had his first solo drawing exhibition titled Norobodhi Jonosrot held in Dhaka Art Centre which drew a lot of acclaim from art aficionados and connoisseurs.

The exhibition will be open to all till 18 January 2016 from  Monday to Thursday (3:00pm to 9:00pm), Friday and Saturday (9:00am to12:00pm and 5:00pm to 8:00pm), except for Sundays.
