Kali-o-Kalam literary awards 2015 held
Dhaka: Reputed literary monthly Kali -o-Kolom awarded four authors and poets with the ‘Kali-o-Kalam Torun Kobi o Lekhok Puroshkar 2015’ at the main auditorium of Bangladesh National Museum on Saturday.
The recipients are Shameem Hossain in poetry (Dhaner Dhatri); Imran Khan in short stories and novels (Dhatab Somoy); Ranjana Biswas in essay, research and drama (Bangladesh-er Palki o Palki Bahok) and Salek Khokon in Liberation War-based research and essay book (Juddha Din-er Goddo O Pramanya).
The winners received Tk. 1 lakh each along with a certificate and award plaque.
Prof. Biswajit Ghosh of Dhaka University, one of the judges of this year’s awards, announced the names of the winners.
He was part of the judges’ panel consisting of Professor Mahboob Sadik, writer Subrata Barua, poet Nurul Huda and popular writer Imdadul Haq Milon.
Renowned Indian novelist and musicologist Shankarlal Bhattacharya attended as the chief guest while noted litterateur Selina Hossain was the special guest.
Chairman of the editorial panel of the magazine, Professor Emeritus Anisuzzaman chaired the event while Bengal Foundation chairman and publisher of the magazine Abul Khair addressed.
Kali-o-Kalam editor Abul Hasnat offered vote of thanks.
