Dhaka Art Summit ends today
Dhaka: The four-day Dhaka Art Summit, one of the largest platforms for South Asian art concludes this evening at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in Dhaka.
The Dhaka Art Summit is the biggest internationally publicized cultural event from Bangladesh and a meeting place for over 600 artists, curators, writers, art professionals and collectors from around the world.
During the Summit, over 50 international journalists were set in Dhaka covering the event and over 130,000 local visitors were gathered the event, said a press release.
Dhaka Art Summit, an initiative of the Samdani Art Foundation in collaboration with Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, and supported by the cultural affairs ministry, would joined a total of 11 galleries including Bengal Gallery, Drik, Gallery Chitrak, Gallery Kaya, Athena, Prothoma Prokashon and English daily Daily Star.
This year, the Dhaka Art Summit was supported by over 80 institutions including Harvard University, Centre Pompidou France, Rockefeller Foundation, Norwegian ministry of foreign affairs, and Swiss Arts Council.
