Remembering Qayyum Chowdhury

Celebrating the memory of the eminent artist and graphic designer, Qayyum Chowdhury, on the 83rd anniversary of his birthday, Bengal Foundation has arranged two exhibitions.
Bengal Gallery of Fine Arts will be exhibiting original illustrations by the artist commissioned for Kali O Kalam, a monthly magazine of arts and letters, and Bengal Art Lounge will be exhibiting selected paintings and drawings from the Bengal Foundation collection - offering an opportunity to rediscover significant works by the late artist.
Both exhibitions are open to all and will continue till the 4 April 2015.
Professor Emeritus Anisuzzaman and artists Rafiqun Nabi and Samarjit Roy Chowdhury will jointly inaugurate the memorial programmes. Abul Hasnat, Editor of Kali O Kalam and the late artist's son, Moinul Islam Zaber will also speak on the occasion.
Nine March 2015 would have been artist and graphic designer Qayyum Chowdhury's 83rd birthday. To celebrate his memory, Bengal Foundation has arranged two programmes.
Bengal Gallery of Fine Arts in Dhanmondi and Kali O Kalam jointly present, ‘Qayyum Chowdhury – Selected illustrations from Kali O Kalam’, an exhibition of original illustrations commissioned by the monthly magazine of arts and letters.
At Bengal Art Lounge in Gulshan, ‘Qayyum Chowdhury – Selected Paintings & Drawings from the Bengal Foundation Collection’ will offer opportunity to rediscover significant works by the late artist.
