Dhaka: Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad on Tuesday launched his autobiographical book ‘Amar Karma, Amar Jibon (My works-my life)’ in Dhaka.

The launching ceremony of his book took place at the Engineers’ Institute, reported BSS.

During the ceremony the former president ironically said that ‘more autocrats’ like him was needed for the development of this country referring to the contribution he made during his tenure as a president.

‘Had there been more autocrats like me, this country could have been more developed by this time,’ he claimed.

Ershad said Upazilas were first created during his tenure as president and the people have been enjoying benefit out of it till today.

He also demanded the introduction of provincial government system. ‘Someday the provincial government system would also be introduced in this country. However, I might not last till that time.’
