Bangladesh wins award at South Asian Universities Festival

Dhaka: A Bangladeshi team led by University Grants Commission (UGC) won ‘Best Performance Award’ at the 9th South Asian Universities Festival (SAUFEST)-2016.
Bangladeshi students achieved the award in the festival participating in a number of events, including song, group song, dance, elocution, poster making, photography, debate and clay modeling.
Around 300 students of 10 countries, including 25 students from 8 universities of Bangladesh, took part in the festival.
Students from Khulna University, Comilla University, Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University, Bangladesh Textile University, IBAIS University, Eastern University, Daffodil International University and Southeast University participated in the festival.
Dr. Nasima Rahman, Director (In-charge), Planning and Development, UGC and Dr. Md. Fakhrul Islam, Joint-Secretary, UGC were present as team manager at the award giving ceremony held on 29 February at Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University at Lucknow of Uttar Pradesh in India.
