bKash, BSK launched book reading program in Jessore school

Dhaka: Bishwo Shahitto Kendro, in association with bKash Limited, a leading mobile financial service provider in the country launched a book reading program for the students of Sacred Heart High School in Jessore on 28 April.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) of Jessore District, Parvez Hasan inaugurated the book reading program at a program in Jessore through handing over books to the students of the school recently.

Saber Sharif, Head of Corporate Affairs of bKash, Sharif Mohammad Masud, Director Bishwo Shahitto Kendro and Sister Lucy, headmistress of the Sacred High School were present at the program.

Under the program, the students of VI to X of the school will get an opportunity to read around 12 to 16 books round the year.

bKash has committed to provide around 35,000 books to Bishwo Shahitto Kendro in 2016 to facilitate the ‘Nationwide Enrichment (Book Reading) Program’ for students.

Around 30,000 students from class VI to X of 400 schools are expected to read the books provided by bKash this year.  bKash has been associated with the initiatives since 2014 and provided around 34,000 and 30,000 books in 2014 and 2015 respectively.
