Padma Vibhushan conferred on Amitabh
New Delhi: Indian President Pranab Mukherjee on Wednesday conferred Padma Vibhushan on superstar Amitabh Bachchan at New Delhi in India.
Amitabh has thanked his fans for making him what he is today.
In his official Facebook page, Amitabh wrote: ‘The Padma Vibhushan awarded by the President of India is a most honoured and prestigious award . . . humbled and so grateful to all the well-wishers and fans whose love and affection and following brought me from humble beginnings to this state.’
The journey from Bollywood’s was not an easy one. The star had trouble getting into the mould of Hindi filmdom because of his conventional looks, but he carved a special place in the showbiz with his acting prowess.
Big B has delivered some exceptional performances in his over four-decade-long film career, with movies such as ‘Deewar’, ‘Agneepath’, ‘Sholay’, ‘Don’, ‘Black’ and ‘Paa’ to his credit.
Giving a glimpse of his journey, Amitabh also shared an image of getting Padma awards, namely Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri.
‘Three Padma awards: Padma Shri, then Padma Bhushan, and then Padma Vibhushan ... from three different Presidents over the years mentioned ... so honoured and humbled,’ he shared.
