Kathin Chibor Dan celebrated in Khagrachhari temple
Khagrachhari: Kathin Chibor Dan, the main religions festival of tribal Buddha community of the Chittagong Hill Tracts, was celebrated at ‘Yongda Buddhist Temple’, the oldest temple of the CHT, on Friday with much enthusiasm.
Various religious programmes, including Panchasheel Grohon, Buddha Puja, Ashta Porishkar and Pradip Puja, were arranged at the temple, reports UNB.
Seeking divine blessings of Lord Goutam Buddha for lasting peace and prosperity for the people of all communities in CHT, the Buddhists lighted candles and offered prayers in the temple.
Kathin Chibor Dan' means 'Offering of Difficult Monk Robe', an annual colourful festival.
During 'Kathin Chibor Dan', new robes are donated to the monks.
