Lubna’s ‘Reflections’ begins at Alliance
A solo painting exhibition ‘Reflections’ by Lubna Charya has begun at Galerie Zoom, Alliance Française de Dhaka.
The Inaugural ceremony of this exhibition was held on November 10.
Lubna Charya calls herself a non-academic artist. Painting is her passion, her way of dreaming — the agency to express herself. She paints her thoughts, her imaginations and the philosophy she has been forging all her life. Her paintings could be distinguished as poetic in that sense. Her watercolour paintings represent village and city landscapes, urban life, village life, flowers and many other things. In this exhibition, she displays some of her recent works.
From real-life reflections observed on the surface of water or glass, a profound relationship between watercolour and reflections can be established. Watercolour has the flavour as well as the characteristics of reflections and Charya utilises that to reflect the thoughts she wants to express to her viewers.
The exhibition will be open to all till 17 November, in Galerie Zoom, Alliance Française de Dhaka.
Visiting hours: Monday to Thursday from 3:00pm to 9:00pm; Friday and Saturday (9:00am to12:00 noon and 5:00pm to 8:00pm). Closed on Sunday.
