Dhaka: A new book containing some unique photographs, ‘Boats of Bangladesh’ by MA Taher, was unveiled on Thursday at the Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre (IGCC) in the city.

The Indian High Commission in Dhaka hosted the launching ceremony of the book in cooperation with India-Bangladesh Foundation, said a media release of the Indian High Commission.

At the book launch ceremony, acting High Commissioner of India Sandeep Chakravorty, eminent artist Shahabuddin Ahmed, and Advisor, Green Delta Insurance Co. Ltd, Nasir A. Choudhury were present.

Taher is a photographer of outstanding repute, and also a writer. ‘Boats of Bangladesh’ depicts the vibrant life of people around the rivers of the country.

Bangladesh is synonymous with rivers, and the boats are its lifeline. The photographs show, in vivid detail, the rich connection of the people of Bangladesh with its rivers.
